Tacit is a credential issuer
Tacit issues verifiable credentials and sealed documents for Dutch residential housing: renting, buying and selling. What it issues is decided under a governed rulebook, held by the person it is about, and verifiable by anyone it is shown to, without access to the facts behind it.

Check a document
Every sealed document carries a QR code and a verification link. Both open a page at
https://tacit.software/verify/… that checks two things:
- The seal, against Tacit's published key. This needs no account and no secret.
- The status, from Tacit's register: whether the document has been revoked or suspended.
The page then says one of: Valid, Revoked, Suspended, Expired, Not verifiable or Unknown.
Trust a result only when your browser's address bar shows tacit.software. A copy of the result, a screenshot or a forwarded PDF is not a verification.
What Tacit issues
- Verifiable credentials
- Tenant Eligibility and Purchase Positioning, issued to the holder as SD-JWT VC, to a wallet over OpenID4VCI among other routes, bound to the holder's key, with each claim disclosed only when the holder chooses.
- Sealed documents
- For renting, the Positioning, Narrative and Declaration. For buying, the buyer's Purchase Positioning and Declaration. Agency mandates, signed by their principals. Each is verifiable at its own link.
- Listing status
- For a listing platform, Tacit notarises that a listing is live, without receiving the listing's content, and publishes that status for any verifier to read.
A credential's whole life
Tacit does not stop at issuing. It operates each credential through its life: issue, present, disclose, suspend and revoke. Its status is public, so a verifier can check, at the moment of reliance, that what it was shown still stands.
How decisions are governed
A credential is relied on by people who never see the facts behind it. So where a decision comes from is part of what Tacit issues.
- The rulebook is versioned. Each governed value cites its source in law with its publication date.
- The rulebook's determinism hash is sealed into every credential Tacit issues, so each decision can be identified and replayed against the exact rules it was made under.
- Tacit will not run in production on a governed value whose attestation has lapsed.
- A credential can be suspended or revoked at any time, and every verifier sees it at the next status check.
What a verifier receives
A credential answers the question asked, as a predicate, rather than handing over the personal data behind it. A landlord, agent or platform learns whether a condition is met, not the figures that meet it.
Who uses Tacit
- Holders: renters, buyers and sellers
- Receive their credentials and documents through a channel that works with Tacit, and decide when and to whom to present them. tacit.rent is one such channel.
- Verifiers: landlords, agents and sellers
- Check a document by its QR code or verification link, as described above, or a credential against Tacit's published keys and status. Nothing to install, no account.
- Platforms and integrators
- Request verdicts, documents and credentials over Tacit's HTTP contract, with an access key granted per platform.
